Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors Education Requirements
Louisiana Residential Building Contractors must fulfill annual continuing education requirements. A residential building contractor is required to complete a minimum of six (6) hours of continuing education annually by a board-approved provider.
If the residential building contractor also holds a valid, current commercial license in one or more of the major classifications of:
- Building Construction
- Highway, Street and Bridge Construction
- Heavy Construction; 4) or Municipal and Public Works Construction,
the six-hour requirement is considered to have been met.
The residential building contractor shall maintain a copy of a certificate of completion for five years and make available to the board upon request.
There are no continuing education requirements for commercial, mold, or home improvement contractors/registrants.
